Fire District 6 will provide properly sized and fitted bicycle safety helmets, utilizing the nationally recognized Safe Kids bicycle helmet program, to children ages 2-18 years who live in District 6.
Children age 2-18 who live within the boundaries of Fire District 6 will be eligible to receive a free fitted helmet. Children under age 10 must have a parent present so that helmet information can be passed on to the parent.
Safe Kids recommended fitting procedures along with the Helmet Fit Checklist will be utilized during the fitting process. All helmet recipients or parents will receive a copy of the Helmet Fit Checklist and How Children See Traffic handout.
You may stop by Headquarters Station 61, located at 8047 Normandy St SE, or Station 64, located at 9530 Old Hwy 99, during normal business hours to obtain a bicycle safety helmet.
